Encrypted Notes is a web-based note-taking application that provides end-to-end encryption. All content is encrypted in your browser before transmission to our servers. We operate on a zero-knowledge architecture, meaning we cannot access your plaintext data.
To use the Service, you must create an account with a username and password. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password. Since the Service uses end-to-end encryption derived from your password, there is no password recovery mechanism. Loss of your password means permanent loss of access to your encrypted data.

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Cloud Surfers GmbH. The application source code is available under an open-source license as specified in the project repository. Your content remains yours — we claim no ownership of data you store through the Service.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Due to our zero-knowledge architecture, we cannot access, read, or recover your encrypted content.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cloud Surfers GmbH shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your encrypted data will be permanently deleted from our servers.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in [STADT], Germany.
